Examples of Hands-On Activities

3D Models

Students created 3D models of VESPR shapes using styrofoam balls to better visualize molecules and their properties.

Online Experiments/Games

Students used PhET simulations to simulate the concept of synaptic signaling and adjust values such as membrane potential and types of voltage gated channels to see its impact on signaling. Students played a Kahoot to revise the main concepts covered in the lesson

Physical Experiments

Students immersed a copper strip and a brass strip into a acidified copper (II) sulfate and observed the brass obtain an electroplated coating due to the copper.
